Following our reporting on phishing e-mails in the name of the National Chamber of Judicial Officers, phishing messages have been sent in the name of numerous judicial officers in recent weeks. Since last night, text messages have also been sent to citizens in the name of Modero.

What do we currently know?

  • The messages are sent form a German GSM number (area code +49);
  • you are asked to deposit into a German account number (code DE);
  • you are asked to immediately pay an amount of 986,35 EUR.

 

What if you received a text message in the name of Modero?

Be sure to follow this step-by-step plan to find out whether the notification was actually sent by Modero. Modero sends her text messages from a Belgian number. We also always ask you to deposit your payment into a Belgian IBAN number (code BE). In addition, we always state your file number and a Belgian telephone number where you can reach us.

Did you receive this text message? You can file a complaint with the police or contact the reporting center of the Federal Public Service Economy.
