Sequester
A sequester is a neutral third party, such as a bailiff or notary, who temporarily keeps goods or money until a legal decision has been made about who is entitled to it.
This happens, for example, in the event of a conflict or a dispute over ownership.
As soon as the parties involved reach an agreement on the division, the role of the sequester will end.
