Yes, you can. You can always involve someone else (a third party) in your file.
In some cases, this is even required.
- If you are under (provisional) administration, your file is managed by an administrator appointed by the judge. This person is authorized to make financial and administrative decisions for you, including the follow-up of outstanding debts. Modero will always communicate directly with the administrator about your file.
- If you have a collective debt settlement if you have, then only manages the debt mediator your file and he/she negotiates possible repayment plans. In this case, Modero will contact your debt mediator.
In other cases, you are free to involve someone in your file yourself.
- lawyer: may fully represent you and negotiate on your behalf.
- Family member or counselor: with your explicit permission, this person can contact Modero and follow up on practical matters. However, there is an important limitation here: we are not allowed to transfer official documents intended for you to this person (in accordance with the GDPR rules). Moreover, the chosen person is not allowed to make legal decisions for you. Official documents and legal decisions remain yours at all times.
Tip: download our Kiwi app or web application. With this tool, you can get an overview of your outstanding debts in one click. With KIWI, you can add an informed third party, such as your parent, child, or other person you trust. That person receives updates about your file, but is unable to make decisions. This way, you ensure that a counselor can follow along and provide support if necessary.
