Can my salary or benefit be seized?
Yes. Your income can be seized:
- Wage: part of your salary is transferred directly to Modero by your employer.
- Allowance: unemployment benefits, sickness benefits or disability benefits can also be partially withheld by the benefits agency.
- Retirement: this can also be seized.
When your salary is seized, your employer withholds part of your salary each month and transfers it to Modero. We then distribute this to the creditor (s) until all your debts have been paid off in full. Once the full amount has been paid, we will close your file and you will be informed about it by Modero and by your employer or benefits agency.
Will my entire salary be deducted?
No. The law protects part of your income, the seizure limit. This way, you always have a minimum amount of money left over to live on. In addition, there are benefits and surcharges that should never be seized, such as child benefit and living allowance.
What should never be confiscated?
The law provides for a seizure limit: you always have a minimum amount to live on.
