Act

A deed is an official document drawn up and recorded by a public official, such as a bailiff or a notary. It describes or confirms a legal act, such as the signification of documents, sequestration, payment of a debt or an opposition to a ruling.

Examples include an act of writ, drawn up by a bailiff, and a notarial deed drawn up by a notary when buying or selling a home. A deed informs you about your rights and obligations towards other parties. It has legal value and serves to officially and clearly record legal actions. This way, there are no misunderstandings and the procedure can be continued correctly.
